Photography Business Cards – Moo Cards Edition

Moo CardsSo, continuing the photography business card series, we’ll look at Moo Cards.  Just before getting into Moo Cards, I wanted to fill you in on what I’ve been doing lately.  Sometimes I’ve been feeling like I haven’t been able to update and post as much as I seriously want to here.  I’ve been working on a big project that I think and know is going to be really cool for Wedding Photographers and couples with their Wedding Planning online.  I’m recently engaged, so I started getting involved and I noticed some opportunities.  I’ve been learning a lot of new things regarding this project and my mind feels like it’s been dragging through the trenches.  If you’re a Wedding Photographer, you might want to keep an eye out here for more information.

Anyways, thank you for your patience there while I updated a little about my life.

MOO CARDS!

What do you know about Moo? I know, when I first came across this company, I was a bit confused by the domain “moo.com.” I thought to myself: “What do these guys have to do with Business Cards?”  Well, the more you think about it, the more you notice connections.  Really though, it’s pretty easy to remember the name and offers you something you probably didn’t expect.

I made the connection with “MOO” to Seth Godin’s book – Purple Cow: Transform Your Business by Being Remarkable (Amazon Affiliate link) and the fact that your photography business cards are about spreading the word and enhance your branding (think branding cows).  Some quick associations there and suddenly the company name makes sense to me.  Either way, the company is super creative and I want to show you why you want to look at Moo for your photography business cards.

Couple of Options for Business Cards with Moo

  1. Standard Business Card – This is your standard size of business card. You have the ability to select from pre-designed options or upload your own image files to use. You can upload files for the front and the back of the car
  2. Moo Minicards – These are small promotional cards that you can use for your business to build your brand, use as mini fliers, or even mini-bookmarks. They are 1.1″x2.76″ in size and printed on 16pt paper.  They are a great thickness and durable.  Most people are pretty interested when receiving one of these.

Get Both.

Moo Cards and Samples

What I seriously adore about Moo as a business, is their willingness to show you their product.  In the online spectrum, they know people have issues with ordering something they’ve never seen or felt in person.  It’s hard sending  your money, even if it’s only $20 for a set of 50 business cards.

For free, they’ll send you 10 business cards.  Not even the cost of shipping.

Soon enough, there is going to be no reason for having bland business cards that do nothing for your brand and presence.  This is especially true because of the ease and integration with Flickr.  You can upload your images you’ve already got on Flickr and use them as your Moo cards.

Moo Kickass & Inspiration

For a crazy amount of creative inspiration, browse the Moo Cards Flickr Group! The group has over 14,000 items in it and you could sit checking out cards for hours.   Here are a few I pulled from the group to show you here:

Moo Mini Cards Used Creatively The sky is the limit when you start creating these kinds of cards.  It’s also the simplicity of making the cards and the order process is quick. The mass amounts of inspiration around the web also add to a creative collective to draw from. This is something that is going to continue to grow as we move more and more into the 21st century.

  1. Moo mini cards are awesome. I’ve been using them as simple contact cards before I started the business, now I use them as a backup to my normal business cards.
The best thing about them is that each one can be different, giving a unique quality.
The size and quality of the the materials used is particularly high, as well. I’ve always been impressed with them.

  2. Hey Ted,

I must agree! Great as contact cards, and back ups to the regular cards. I really like how they are a nice thickness and quality for minicards. I think I might use them as tags for gifts next Christmas!
