How Well are You Connected to Photography?

Most of the time we discuss making a connection with our subjects or clients. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking recently about the term connection. Making a connection with subjects and clients is truly important for our photography, but what else connects you to photography?

Graphic of connecting with photography

Owning a camera, digital or film, connects you to photography in one small but important way.  It’s just a small part to in the grand scheme of the photography industry. Moreover, the greater the connection, the greater the influence on your images.   It all catches up and allows you to grow.  It’s like feeding your photography-muscles.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a really cool survey with funny images to determine your connection.  I’m leaving this as an open ended question: How well are you connected to Photography?

I’d love to hear how you feel you connect to the world of photography or how the world of photography connects with you.

You’re welcome to leave comments. If you don’t feel comfortable leaving a comment, e-mail me your connection to photography.

I feel like I am rather connected to the photography world. This is not just because I am an photography student in college. But because I am a photography student for life I search for new ideas and subjects everyday. I have people ask me in class how did you know to do that? I tell them I read that on a website or heard it in a podcast. It doesn’t end for me I enjoy all types of photography therefore I feel it influences me in my own style. I take abit of this and that throw it all together and use it to my advantage. You never know what tidbit of info pops in your head at the right time just when you have a problem or a tough situation. I follow photographer’s on blogs, twitter, Facebook etc. Be a student always, you can’t have enough knowledge!

When I went to school I stayed in the Dorms. I think they are the most fun place to stay there. Some people rent condos, but I still don’t think that is the way to go.
