When I first shot real estate photography, I was so nervous to make mistakes. It wasn’t until I experienced a massive fear that I was able to understand that I overcome them as they (fears) present themselves. As of today, I feel little to no fear when doing a real estate shoot. I only fear the fact that I sweat a bit more than normal people due to my medication. Not a huge issue.
Being more confident didn’t come instantly. Reflecting on my progress in photography, it’s a number of little steps that have increased the confidence. This was a big decision to call my overall company – Embryo. There is a lot more meaning, but the term embryo represents something very very tiny and growth isn’t instant. Confidence in your own photographic vision doesn’t happen instantly either. In fact, I don’t think it ever finishes developing – it’s always evolving.
Relating to this image of Vancouver architecture, I realize that I don’t have massive commercial architecture clients yet. I do intend to continue this path and see where it takes me though. It could very well take me on high end commercial architecture shoots. I also apply this mentality to portrait photography. I’m gaining ground step by step with photographing people. I’m taking a bigger step than usual very soon and I hope you come back to see what it’s related to.
In the mean time, enjoy a little piece of architecture from Vancouver. The Vancouver Convention Center is photo 48 of 360!
