Another point that I didn't notice in your article was that blogging gets you into the habit of creating things that are shared with the world. People who produce tend to do a lot better than people who only consume. Learning how to produce for an audience on a regular basis is a skill and habit that students would do very well to master young. Excellent post and a creative way to both give yourself a job while in school and use it to get a job later.
