Excellent post and a creative way to both give yourself a job while in school and use it to get a job later. Another point that I didn't notice in your article was that blogging gets you into the habit of creating things that are shared with the world. People who produce tend to do a lot better than people who only consume. Learning how to produce for an audience on a regular basis is a skill and habit that students would do very well to master young.

So true! I am in my last semester at college and I am disappointed that I didn't jump on the blogwagon sooner! I can definitely see how blogging is helpful for art/photography/music majors, and as a psychology major I find that I have a lot of interesting topics to blog about too! Thanks for the interesting post!

Great advice! I had an old-fashioned website when I was a student and even that helped me a lot to learn about marketing, it got me in touch with lots of different people that I was able to learn from, it gave me something good to put on my CV when looking for that first job and also it did earn me some extra money that I would use on my days off school.
