Photography Business Card Series: 23 Photography Business Cards You Should Check Out

Whether you run a photography business or a simple photoblog website, it’s important to have a card to give out to people.

We’ve all had People often stop to talk us while out shooting, or people atleast show interest in what you’re out doing. This is when it helps to have something on you to pass on to them.

In a sense, it’s saying that you are there for a reason and you’re not trying to cause trouble. I often dream of getting into abandoned buildings and if someone, say a security guard, were to find you doing your work, they might be more understanding if you are serious and have a business card. Granted, I haven’t been in a situation with a security guard to know how they would react.

The business card could have a simple link to your website or photoblog for them to check out later. A simple card like this is easy to drop wherever too! Leave it behind at restaurants, in books or magazines at the store. If you haven’t thought of doing something like this already, this is a good post for you to check out. If you’ve thought of this, and you’ve already got your cards, I still think this is a great post to look over because these are a lot of business cards I was able to find and collect around the internet.

If you run your own business, the business card is essential. Photography is no exception and I believe it’s a great extension of your photographic work. I don’t mean that I believe every photographer should have a business card that shows off their photography. That could work for someone, and be too much for someone else. I am definitely not a professional graphic designer, but I am a photographer and I am in the midst of creating my own business card. In creating my own business card for Scott R. Webb Photography, I like to surround myself with inspiration. I like to see what other people are doing, any trends, or any specific information that I forgot about.

I will do my best to link the card to the appropriate website the card represents. I am doing this to help other photograph’s see what people are doing and I am giving these photographers a little more exposure. I won’t fully critic the cards, however there are some cards that I comment on. I don’t intend anything negative out of this post, however if something bothers you please leave a comment or contact me. I chose not to display 23 of the most amazing photography business cards because I like to allow for the outstanding cards to jump out.

A lot of the great photography business cards were found on Card Observer. I’ve spent time browsing business cards there and around the web, so that I can show off a bunch to you and save you the time of clicking next, next, next.

The Photography Business Cards

This Business Card below for John Bragg Photography is very creative and seems to use multiple materials. I like the idea of attaching another material to the business card, ie a sticker, fabric, thread, staple. I think it would add texture and a form of visual interest.

Wick Photography – I have a feeling this is what most photographer business cards look like today. Upon seeing this card, I woudl assume that this is a photograph taken by “wick photography” and I would be a bit confused on what type of photography they do. If you compare this to some of the cards that are shown here, you might get the idea that this business card was created very quick because of the need for a card. Meanwhile, the other cards look like time, love, and pride were put into the cards and they may be seen as a reflection of their work (even if the business card does not include a sample of their photography).

Scott Rohe Photography – I think it’s safe to say that we need to be careful in the way we word our services. I am confident that, “I shoot people…” is meant to be seen in a fun, playful, and joking way; however, it may turn away certain clientele.

Estudio Kirby & Optimum Photography – I have thought about the hole in the card to represent the shutter, as seen in these 2 photographer business cards. While I think they pulled it off, I start to wonder about the number of other business cards like them. There is also no doubt that the service provided is photography. I think Optimum photography pulls it off a bit better because the hole works with the “O” and does not look out of place, as seen in the business card of Estudio Kirby.

Austin Walsh Photography – I love the colours and look to this photographer business card. Compare this with some of the other cards within this blog post. I really believe that a great looking business card is a great way to show a sense of pride for what you do.

Toby Keller -An interesting design with rounded corners. I love spot-coated elements and this card it.

JM Fine Art Wedding Photographer – I like this business card for a photographer! It’s visually appealing, and it looks like it’s embossed instead of using letterpress. I think it shows how a business card can be very creative, and elegant at the same time.

Synecdoche Photography has a great business card design. I found their card on Flickr and loved that it was very energy conscious. They cut out old folders and printed their design on it. It goes to show “less is more.”

J. Rocque Photography has a very simple and effective design for their photography business. I found their card on Flickr.

I found this Business Card concept on Flickr. It doesn’t appear to be a physical card in the image but it does give a good idea as to what it would look like.

This card below, for Scott Walter, has the integration for notes on the back of it. I know that you could simply leave the back of the card blank, but this shows that he was consciously thinking about using the back of the card for this purpose. I think it can subtly allow possible clients to know they are welcome to ask questions and mark up the back of the card.

The last photography business card in this post is for Brooke Fanning Photography! This card caught my eye as youthful, fun, creative and inspirational. I did a search on Flickr and it popped out in a crowd full of cards.
